I will be borrowing from a free master course I participated in. It was surprising how versatile these prompts were and how much creativity they inspired. Bonus, it only takes 10 minutes. In this series, I will be proving you with the theme and you will be creating a list. How many you get on a list does not matter. All that matters is that you write as many list items as you can within a 10 minute timer. This prompt is comes from the podcast of writer and poet, Tim Clare.

Today's Theme: Names
Just start listing names. They can range from real to fantastical. They can be a singular name like Madonna, or first-middle-last name combos, or something of intrigue like agent Finn or Madame Devereaux. Just start listing names. Put no thought into a character or appearance, just names.

*Read the following only after you have completed your list*

Any time you are stuck for a name, you have a list that you can keep referring to or removing used names or even adding to the list. Maybe, now that you this list, there is a name or two that inspires a new character and you have something to flesh out. Any time you are stuck in writer's block, just create a list. You get some writing done and you inspire some form of creativity.

Such a good idea! I have a list of names that I keep and sometimes they do inspire something, right when I need that spark!
